Keith Quinn visits Quitline
Rugby commentator Keith Quinn visited Quitline’s office this month to judge the office cubicle with the best rugby decorations - after being asked via a message posted on a window.
The veteran broadcaster was asked to judge via a sign posted on Quitline’s level 12 window which is directly opposite his apartment. A staff member knew he lived there after seeing him on his balcony. The staff member, Wilma Olsen (Ngāti Kahungungu, Ngāti Rakaipaaka, Ngāti Porou), had previously wished him a Happy Birthday by posting a message her window. She was thanked with a message posted on his balcony. Wilma then posted an invitation to judge the competition by putting her number on the message.
After agreeing to judge, Quinn came to the office the following week to look at the cubicles staff had decorated in anticipation of the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony. Staff created themes which included a replica of the Cake Tin with cupcake players, an All Blacks shrine, a mini-penalty kick game and a green, white and orange cubicle in support of Ireland.
