Hi bloggers
We're looking for people who have quit smoking with the help of Quitline to take part in our new advertising campaign.
We're looking for all different kinds of people. Shooting will take place in early March in the Wellington region so it would be ideal (but not essential!) if you were living in the area.
To register your interest, please email Sarah Woods: sarahw@quit.org.nz
It would be very helpful if you could include some information about yourself and your quitting journey.
Many thanks!

Thanks so much you guys -
Today I
- Stood out in the pouring rain in my dressing gown to smoke a cigarette which tasted like lizard droppings
- I burnt a hole through my favourite hoodie
- I had to explain to my little daughter what the pictures on Mummy's rolly packet meant
- I coughed my lungs up all evening
Whaaat? Who can live like that?
But it's okay - I can drink ALOT of cups of tea - hey - I'm a tea addict right?
Back on the horse I go ((-:

Hey Pukeko - busy busy - probably why you don't smoke any more - hope you get your shopping day soon and let me know where to get one of those tea things.
I've had many set backs this week, not doing great on the smoke free zone at all.
SO - decided to try again tomorrow. I've reset my start date, and will probably be winging my head off on this blog all day tomorrow.
Keep your fingers crossed for me
PS - I really enjoyed the 1 hour and 10 minutes I was a non smoker on Monday - and I want it back - lol (-:
Hey tea addict, I know how you feel completely. Are you doing this cold turkey? This is my 2nd time around also, gave up for 7 years...started again last September, thought it would be easy, but I would say this time around is harder. Good on you for doing it again though!! :)
Thanks Debz30. I got all the patches and lozenges, but couldn't face using them this morning. I thought cold turkey might be the way to do it.
Well done on you quitting! How many days now? Did you use patches and stuff?
I have some St John's Wort. Might try that.
Good on ya for going cold turkey :) I actually bought some Nicobrevin In December as that it what helped me the first time around. (there was only 1 week left in the pack as I tried twice in January this year LOL Anyways, so used the week of Nicobrevin up and im here, nearly 3 months later. Although I did have a slip up on Friday night, 3hrs of naughtiness with my smoker friends (had been putting them off for like 2 months)...thought I was ready to go out for a few drinks...nup...need a wee bit longer I think :) St Johns Wort is actually really good. I was on "rescue remedy" its a natural calming remedy, a couple of drops under the tongue and I was instantly calm :) hehe fully natural, but it helped when the cravings were bad.
Its good that you are coping really well so far, lets hope it stays that way huh!!
Hi tea addict.
We all know how you are feeling, its almost like we go through a grieving period. A ciggy has been a lifeline to a lot of us and we just have to deal with not having it anymore. Just think how much healthier we are all going to be, good luck, remember you are not alone on this journey..
Wohoo tea addict - how exciting!!! You're going to be rid of the 'old friend' who is trying to kill you!! Shake him off once and for all....he's been stealing your money for long enough...made you feel like an outcast with friends.....messes your garden up and tried to give you some nasty old diseases! You're better off without him tea addict. Onwards and upwards ☺
Thanks horlicks, Debz and minty fresh! Really cool you guys are out there (-:
I haven't felt this messed up since the last time I tried ..... What happened was .......
My lovely partner had my cards. Bomb proof right?
Wrong - became obsessed with looking for half smoked butt ends on the ground ! Yes! I actually smoked a couple of these pieces of germ encrusted bits of filth. (Hangs head in total shame). Addictions a pretty powerful beast - aye?
He passed away a few months ago - On my own this time )-: Gonna do without the butt ends this time!
Onwards and upwards ! (-:
Welcome tea addict, you will find lots and lots of love, understanding and suport here on the bloggs. Colendolences on the passing of your partner, never easy loosing loved ones.
In some ways this can also make us very strong and determined to try something. If quitting is it. all the power to you.
Welcome to the wonderful world of being a quitter.
You will find a greater joy in your garden now as you willl be able to smell it better. I do !!! I love my garden but it's too wet to get out there at the moment. b.... it all!!
Im sorry to hear of your partner, was it sudden? That sucks :(
You know, you dont have to go it alone, there are so many to help you and honestly, if you feel like you are choking going cold turkey, try the patches or try other alternatives. The Nicobrevin I was on was completely herbal, no nicotine in the tablets, 28 day course and they take the craving out of your brain you could say! They were fab for me, could be worth considering. Also others are on the St John Wort for depression, they take about a week to kick in, but shit they work well, just a thought... :) There are a few of us on here on our 2nd and more time rounds, but hey, first step is to admit it on here and seek help huh! :) I am finding the 2nd time around a lot harder than the first time, but thats okay, Im willing to keep on being a non-smoker definitly :)
Thanks 2 both of you for your kindness. My partner was taken by the big C )-: happened so fast I can still hardly believe it. Now I feel I owe it to him to give up, even though he's not here anymore.
I fell off the wagon this arvo. DAMMIT ! I think you're right - I think I will try the Nicobrevin. Go get some tomorrow.
First time round, I slipped up quite a few times. I was in the UK at the time, and sometimes I used to drive from Bristol to London, (200 miles) just to have a ciggie!
But I persisted and after a period of time, it was like smoking had never existed - can't WAIT to be there again.
Did you guys have slip ups? If so, how did you feel - what did you do?
Would love to hear from anyone with perspective on how not to feel like a complete loser and let the head devils sabotage everything.
Thanks for listening (-:
welcome tea would a loser be bairing there soul with us ,dont think so ,remember this is a journey it works by putting one foot in front ot tuther one day at a time, a loser tries doing it alone .we can do this together eh .just be you and keep talking to us
