My little app
Just thought I would share the output of my little App which is monitoring my efforts:
Since Ingave up (15days), 138,705 people have died of a smoking related illness (WHO statistic).
My curculation should have improved by 0.5% (small steps ..!).
My lungs may have recovered by 0.2% (more small steps).
Number not smoked = 290.
Money saved =$216.98.
Zero smoking related carbon monoxide in my system.
Zero nicotine in my system.
Cravings are on the decline
I have apparently added 1 day, 4 hours, 2 mins, 53 secs to my life.
Not sure how scientific all this is but I'm starting believe it so that's all good.
Have a great weekend all and best of luck with your giving up.

My Story for Why
Thought I would share my story with everyone today, it is the main reason for me packing in. Whilst I have tried many times to give up, I don't really think I wanted to. Instead, I thought the gum, patches, lozenges, hypnotherapy, acupuncture or the bio resonance (yes, I've tried them all over the years) would somehow fix this for me with no effort .. I was wrong as we all know.
So what is going to make the difference this time, well it's because I want to and why I want to is:
Both of my parents have been diagnosed with vascular dementure a couple of year s ago. It the short time since then, they have both been taken into care and in decline, the worst of it is that they are in separate places because one has additional problems with their heart so needs higher medical interventions There is nothing worse than your parents not recognizing you and unable to communicate. Whilst there is no direct evidence that their conditions are directly related to their life long smoking, it is too much of a coincidence that they have it and no one else in both of their very large families do, in fact their siblings are mostly older and bright as buttons. The only difference is the rest of their families do not smoke and never have. I am determined not to have this happen to me (through smoking) or have my kids distressed in the same way me and my brothers and sisters are at this time as deterioration speeds up. I can only hope my parents are so far gone that they have no comprehension of their current state.
Sorry to be so depressing with my story but I am deriving lots of strenghth and motivation from this, I hope someone might find it a useful motivator too.
