Quit Blogs Leisaclare

New Quitline website and blogs coming soon.

Hi Quit Whanau!

We wanted you to be the first to know that in the next couple of weeks we are going to launch a new Quitline website including an updated blogs experience.

Firstly, don't panic: all your old blogs, supporters and badges will remain the same. However, the pages will look slightly different, so it might take some time to get used to.

So - why are we telling you?
Well... while we swap over to the new site, both the Quitline website and these blogs will be unavailable for up to 12 hours. Sorry for this inconvenience, but the Quitline tech goblins need time to move their pixels and code around the cyberworld. Rest assured we'll be back as soon as possible with a shiny new website for you all.

Improvements to the new website include:
- A completely refreshed look and streamlined functions
- An experience optimised for mobile phones (finally!)
- Better member functions and a simplified sign-up experience

The exact timing of this new website launch is not known yet, but we expect it to be very early in June. We'll try and update you closer to the time.

Thanks - The Quitline Team

Profile image sez1235 days ago

Well done leisaclare a hard fought month and you are doing it! Know what you mean about the weight seems unfair that doing something that is so good for you results in weight gain. But cie la vive the weight can be lost a small battle compared to quitting smoking.

Cool thanks for the advice sez123. Yeah now i gotta love all rlthat good stuff.

3 more Days and its 1 month smokefree

Kia ora, Atamarie, Morena

Nearly 1 month and I can hardly believe it. Not had one puff on a cigarette. So when I go over the reasons why I decided to quit, my health was the number 1 reason. Feels like a mopping up of all the residue that was left behind by the smokes but over time that will disappear and something new will replace it.

Yes now I am thinking I wonder what it would be like to drop 30 to 40 kg. Only one way to find out and thats to make a plan and do it. Just a few kgs at a time until my tinana is bouncing with that energy that I have been without for a while. Come back energy!

Stay strong quit whanau!

Nice blog thanks for sharing. Losing weight is harder when you get older. Im over 50 and finding it hard to lose weight. I put inanother 10kg when I quit. Although it is hard with determination it can be done and we have quit the smokes so losing g weight won't be too diffi ult.

27 Days - Nearly 1 month

Kia ora, Atamarie, Morena

Well day 27 and I can say with confidence that craving cigarettes has weakened to the point of "its doesn't bother me and resisting the temptation is easy".

I am so happy I can say nope and not feel like im not losing but that I am winning. Always had a very competitive side to me and that energy is definitely playing out in my life at the moment.

I am still very aware of all thoses reasons yo wanna smoke but my changing thoughts are starting to replace the old ones that wanted to smoke. I like my complexion and my energy levels they are a lot better.

Bring on the next days weeks months and years of anew buzz.

Stay strong quit whanau!

23 days. Bloody proud of that fact. Im now thinking about seriously doing some light walking for an hour a day. Anyone else doing this and if you are do you got some tips or good korero about it.

Stay strong quit whanau.

Profile image nanaturtle16 May, 2017

Replacing a bad habit with a Good one is the Best idea (says She, a confirmed Couch Spud!)
I guess a walking buddy could be good. Check a note up at the local school/gym/sport centre, sure to pull someone out with You.
You're doing Super Liesaclare πŸ‘
Keep up the Great work πŸ‘
Stay Strong πŸ˜ƒ

Profile image Leisaclare16 May, 2017

Thanks. Na dont need a walking buddy, i like being flexible some days as my creative side can be the task for the day. Gym dont appeal just yet as thats a money a routine thing. But yeah ive proved to myself nanaturtle that i have what it takes to kick this habit of smoking.

Profile image turtle16 May, 2017

You are doing great, well done 😁😁

Profile image Leisaclare16 May, 2017

Yep turtle I am. Thankyou for the kind works.

Profile image donosti16 May, 2017

i walk around my local park, 2 laps 6kms, in about 1 hr these days. i used to be slower when i first started about 6 months ago. Just go for it, walking is great exercise, and fresh air and sunshine are also great natural mood boosters.

Profile image Lizzy16 May, 2017

Walking is so good for the mind, body and soul and its something you can do to help you recover from this terrible addiction Leisaclare. As donosti says ... just go for it ... to begin with a small lap may seem difficult, I huffed and puffed when I first started but it gets easier. I did buy a fitness tracker and have found it to be a great motivator ... I haven't lost any weight (still 5kg heavier since quitting) but I haven't put anymore on either. πŸ˜„

Profile image Leisaclare16 May, 2017

Thanks you everyone.

Profile image smokefreemep17 May, 2017

Walking is great exercise, good for the soul, beautiful fresh clean air is important for our mentality to keep on track. Good stuff

Profile image Leisaclare17 May, 2017

Thanks smokefreemep.
