I have made it through three weeks, thanks for the support it kept me going. Today was the hardest so far though, my mind was thinking when I get home I will have a puff of my husbands cig. Lucky I got home from work first and had a puff on my e-cig which took the craving away. It sure freaked me out how easy it is to give in. This quit I have not used patches which has made it harder, but really am determined to win this!!! Take care everyone and have a great week!

Happy fathers day!!

Hi all, Hope yous are having a great weekend. I have been struggling to make it past two weeks smoke free for the past year,I have done it before making it to almost 4 months, why cant I get there again? I was about to make a post last night with my stats at two weeks but had three puffs instead!!! Dumb dumb dumb!! today is a special day to give up. I will do it for my dad, he has been gone for 4 years due to smoking and if I cant do it for just me I will do it for him too!. have a great week everyone and keep up the great work!!

Profile image Bub446 September, 2015

Turtle you can do it by digging deep and knowing your triggers that's a lovely thought doing it for your Dad:)

Profile image Louiebee2126 September, 2015

Im 7 weeks and still get that Urge, But just go do something, and think about something eles. you can do it Turtle, Were here for you.

Profile image nanaturtle6 September, 2015

Turtle-the number 1reason for my Quit was "to honour my Father" I kid you not. Your Father would be proud to know that you have learned from his mistake&more Proud to know you have broken a cycle. You are Able to do this. Believe in yourself-you deserve this too. Stay strong Turtle, you CAN do this. NOPE ever! β™‘

Profile image Felix7 September, 2015

Hello !! Turtle ... :)
I know you can do this and so do you, but its really when you are ready to take it further, dont beat yourself about it, it will eventually happen .... look im getting near another hundy soon and I tell you in the last week if someone asked me at the time if I wanted a smoke I would of taken it maybe not smoked the whole thing but would of definitely had a puff anyway, was lucky enough no one was of course.
Just take ODAAT, Felix is behind you to help.

Profile image aroha7 September, 2015

Keep trying turtle, don't give up quitting, just find a distraction that works for you :) Getting someone close to you on board too would be helpful.

Profile image Ladylene7 September, 2015

Yay .. happy to see that you are still connected in here Turtle and even more stoked to see you on the wagon. There are many people who try over and over again (I had 3 failed attempts) before finally mastering their quit. Its all about not perseverance and not giving up Turtle. You have the desire and the determination .. you are a winner and you WILL get to your stick quit Turtle. Time to put up your "NOPE shield" Hun and say enough is enough. I learned the hard way that NOPE is the key .. I drew my line in the sand and NOPE is it. I know full well that if I have just one puff I'm screwed.

But having said that .. dont get lost in how many times you have weakened over those months .. instead look at how many days your mastered it .. how many days you said 'no I will not smoke today' and stuck to it. Celebrate the victories Turtle. I cheering for you . waving my pink pom poms around frantically .. shouting and cheering from the sidelines. Go you!

Profile image clarence the cat7 September, 2015

The important thing Turtle is you haven't given up trying. As long as you persevere you will get your SMOKEFREE reward. I love that you are doing this for your Dad. He would have been so proud of you.

Profile image nanaturtle30 November, 2015

Long time Turtle-hope you're ok. We will be here, when the time comes, take care :-)

Profile image jakethemuss13 July, 2015

Profile image nanaturtle13 July, 2015

Profile image Blondene13 July, 2015

Profile image Nana2213 July, 2015

Some of us take a while to learn eh Turtle. I can't even count how many times it took me.
You are here and you're off again - and that's the main thing. You can do it Turtle. Maybe you could make a rule for yourself along the lines of...." i will blog instead of having that smoke"
We are here for you Turtle.

Profile image Calmwaters6 July, 2015

Great to see you back Turtle :)

Profile image Doll19686 July, 2015

Hang in there Turtle - you can do this. Practice the 4D's and NOPE and ODAAT. Remember that the first few days will be the hardest. Be kind to yourself - your body will scream at you with everything it's got but you need to take control of that physically and mentally. Don't give up on what will be one of the most important things you will do for yourself. Stay strong.

fish not bitting

Went fishing today, I usually love it but today was boring because we caught nothing. We were sitting there for hours and I was moaning so much, my partner said do you want a cigarette? The thought was so exciting I sais Yes. I rolled the cig then looked at it and said "Are you going to make this day any less boring?" It said back to me "No, I am just going to poison you!" I gave it back to my partner and realised how crazy the mind works. Proud of myself and so is he, I am learning how this thing works finally!!

Profile image AXL2 May, 2015

Hi turtle. Well done for resisting. I've just got to ask though, why would your partner tempt you with a smoke?☺

Profile image turtle2 May, 2015

Hi AXL, I know that sounds bad him asking me if I want a cig - He smokes and he is supporting me and is proud but I don't think these smokers know how to do it properly.

Profile image Bub442 May, 2015

well done for resisting like AXL i too wonder why your partner tempted you with a smoke?

Profile image AXL2 May, 2015

You show him how quitting is done turtle. Maybe he will follow you in being a non smoker. You're doing great turtle. Keep up the great work☺

Profile image sunray2 May, 2015

Very proud of you Turtle. Congratulations on still being smokefree. I hope you got fish 'n' chips for tea. ⭐

Profile image suemack2 May, 2015

Wow! Well done Turtle!

Profile image Vince2 May, 2015

Good on you Turtle - there are always going to be temptations - you made a good choice today, Shame the fish were not biting!!

Profile image PokuruGirl2 May, 2015

Sorry to skite but we went out of Tauranga today. Out about 8.30, back at 12. With 25 snapper, 1 huge trevally and 4 ocean-going kahawai. Was an amazing day with calm water, crystal clear ocean and good company. We had delicious snapper for tea - home made fish and chips. The only thing we'll be smoking is the one kahawai we took from the stash. Still, even the worst day's fishing is better than the best day working. And, well done for resisting the smoke. It doesn't ever make anything "better".

Profile image PSPSP2 May, 2015

I am sorry to have to post this turtle. We went fishing (4 of us) and came back with 25 snapper 1 trevally and 4 kawhai.

Down here in TGA the snapper size is 30 so we were happy.

Well done on resisting! That is impressive.

Profile image Fritzy2 May, 2015

Wow Turtle you should be Super proud. And yes how crazy our heads can be. Go you...

Profile image Calmwaters2 May, 2015

Super proud of you Turtle, you got this!!!

Profile image AnnaS2 May, 2015

Hi Turtle, my husband smokes to but is supportive of me and can see how not smoking makes me so much happier, I hope one day he will give up but he has to do it when he's ready. I do notice when he comes inside after having one and think to myself I can't believe i smelt like that, yuk! Bummer bout the fish but awsome you didnt undo all the work it takes to get through this. Sleep well

Profile image Nana222 May, 2015

Oh well done Turtle, on resisting. You made a really good decision.
Hubby and son went duck shooting today and they got their limit of ducks, a couple of pheasants and a snapper surfcasting. I guess it just wasn't your day for fish today.

Profile image nanaturtle2 May, 2015

Fish didn't bite&neither did you-very well done!! Getting this quit sorted-Yay!!
