Back to the same problem I had on my last quit, eating far to much and have now got a sweet tooth.....time to get a serious work out and concentrate on that 😣😣πŸ˜₯

Profile image turtle21 June, 2017

At the end of tonight it will be 80!!!

Profile image Nana2221 June, 2017

You are doing brilliantly Turtle! Close enough to be congratulated on 80 awesome days.
I find eating mandarins good for dealing with the sweet tooth....but honestly, a bit of extra weight in becoming smokefree is not worth worrying about.

Profile image Woodsie21 June, 2017

Kick the smokes and worry about the weight after. We know there will be a little bit of spread when we give up, it's part of the gig.

The weight will be the same process as quitting the smokes down the track. ODAAT and NOPE .I've waited for 6 months and now I'll start working on my inner Twiggy lol.

Profile image Sammyy21 June, 2017

Well done turtle nearly at the hundy club now. I really went overboard with the eating especially sweet things but after about four months naturally the cravings for crap food eased off. Do whatever you need to get through, then worry about the eating later. Trust me that's far easier to deal with than quitting smoking. Keep up the great work 🌞

Profile image sez12322 June, 2017

Yeah I've got some extra roundness going on too wish it wasn't but hey would rather that than the stinky smokes. Well done on your numbers they are looking mighty fine!

Profile image flower22 June, 2017

Hi turtle don't worry about the eating sweet things like it was going out of fashion now hardly eat it at all. one thing at the time smoking first then sweets after by the way I am so proud of you I will be looking in again keep up the good work your friend flower

Profile image Felix22 June, 2017

... its so easy to say dont worry about the sweet things, but know how you feel, it can be quite depressing the weight issue, take one thing at a time Turtle, you can do this, have faith ole buddie .... Felix

I think part of it is food just tastes so damn good when you stop smoking

Profile image Janet G6 days ago

You're doing so well!! I think the trick is to have healthy alternatives on hand. Like carrot sticks and other vegetables you do enjoy when you eat them. Because of course we choose the unhealthy alternatives lol.
A saying i heard that helps me is: if you aren't hungry enough to eat an apple, you're not hungry.

Profile image smokefreemep6 days ago

Its all about moderation thats all. No such thing as bad food its all yummy if you ask me lol. Its ok to eat treats and the food you like, just in moderation combined with a little veg lean meat and fruit.. exercise.. all good!!

I have tried quitting so many times I have lost count....I am so proud of myself for getting this far. The best I have got is 112 days I think, so am getting there!! The best advice I can give in my experience is that it does get easier and you learn more from each quit. Some people can do it the first time, but it takes a bit longer for others so don't give up on giving up πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Profile image Heatherb12 June, 2017

Stay strong Turtle, you are doing great

Profile image Woodsie13 June, 2017

Well I guess you've got to aim for the new record which is 113 days and then make it harder to beat by seeing if that can become 120, 150 250 and 365 etc. I read something the other day which said "every attempt to quit makes the next attempt more likely to succeed". Never give up.

I have made it through three weeks, thanks for the support it kept me going. Today was the hardest so far though, my mind was thinking when I get home I will have a puff of my husbands cig. Lucky I got home from work first and had a puff on my e-cig which took the craving away. It sure freaked me out how easy it is to give in. This quit I have not used patches which has made it harder, but really am determined to win this!!! Take care everyone and have a great week!

Profile image Sammyy25 April, 2017

Profile image GTMI21 April, 2017

I felt like that about weekends to Turtle, and like you I loved getting to Monday so I knew I was safe again, I'm 10weeks smoke free now and the weekends are no longer bothering me, hang in there you will feel great about them in no time at all πŸ˜€

Profile image BillabongJon21 April, 2017

Maybe you can stay busy writing more blogs, I like the way you tell your story. Your fishing story was quite funny. Any way enjoy your weekend and hang tough, don't puff.

Profile image Julia C22 April, 2017

Whatever the reason - just know that you can do it Turtle. And soon the weekends won't bother you so much.

Profile image Murphy500022 April, 2017
