What is Txt2Quit?
Txt2Quit is a txt message service to help you quit smoking and runs for three months. Getting txt messages can help keep your motivation up and give you advice and support as you quit.
Is Txt2Quit free?
Yes, if you are in NZ.
If you use nicotine patches, gum and lozenges, there will be a charge at the pharmacy of approximately $5 per product for an eight weeks' supply.
What’s a quit date?
This is the day you will stop smoking and the day that your Quit Programme starts. We'll start sending you txts the day after your Quit Date. You can set a quit day up to one month from today’s date.
When will the txt messages start?
Your txt messages will start on the day you start your Quit Programme, this is the Quit Date (the day you stop smoking) which you set yourself when you sign-up.
I’m having technical problems, what do I do?

Please note: Clients who use the Skinny Mobile service will not be able to subscribe to Txt2Quit because Skinny Mobile do not support mobile to shortcode services, however they are planning to within the next 3-6 months. How many messages will you send me?
At first you will get one message per day, and txts will become less frequent over the three month programme.
If you get a craving or have a slip up, txt HELP to 3111 us and we’ll give you a call to help you get back on track.
How will I know when I get a Txt2Quit message?
Messages sent from Quitline are from 3111.
I think I haven't received some messages?
You may be unable to receive text messaging in some geographical areas due to unavailable or poor network coverage of service by your service providers.

I’ve started smoking again, now what?
If you’ve gone back to regular smoking and still want to quit, txt HELP to 3111. We'll give you a call and get you started on a new Quit Programme. This will help you get custom advice and support for the stage you're at. You can also start a new Quit Programme by logging into your My Page, clicking on Edit My Quit Programme button and clicking on "Stop my Quit Programme".
Will you send me advertising or spam?
No. We won’t send you any advertising or any txt messages you haven’t asked for. If you don’t like the messages, you can stop Txt2Quit anytime by TXTing STOP to 3111 or calling 0800 778 778.
Why do I get txts asking if I’m quit?
At four weeks and three months through the programme, we may send you a txt to ask if you are still quit. Your honest response will help us to make the programme more effective.
If you reply No to these txts this will not affect your programme. You can get more support to quit by calling Quitline 0800 778 778 or visit www.quit.org.nz.
How do I stop Txt2Quit?
Txt STOP to 3111 or call 0800 778 778 and we’ll take you off Txt2Quit.
Why am I still receiving txts even after I txted STOP to Txt2Quit?
The txts will be follow-up support txts asking how you're going. You'll receive four of these during your three month Quit Programme.
How do I stop my Quit Programme?
You can stop your programme by calling 0800 778 778 and asking for your programme to be stopped.
