Media interview for Seven Sharp

Hi bloggers,
Seven Sharp are looking for someone to do a media interview on Monday in Wellington. They are specifically looking at tax increases so want to interview someone who quit because of the cost of smoking.
If you would be interested in doing this, please email comms@quit.org.nz

WOW my stats

Havnt looked at my stats in a while as being a non smoker had become pretty normal.

I have been quit for 10 Months, 14 hours, 3 minutes and 28 seconds (304 days). I have saved $2,910.44 by not smoking 6,091 cigarettes. I have saved 3 Weeks, 3 hours and 35 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 4/07/2010 6:01 a.m.

Certainly makes me feel proud. The only problem at the moment is that I havnt home now for a week. I have not been getting on well with my wife (at home anyway, get on fine at work) and have been staying at either office or workshop. 6 year old ringing alot and very sad. Im sitting in my little office tonight and unfortunately feeling sorry for myself (i no I just need to harden up a bit) but I must say, it is the first time I have really felt like going and buying a pack in a long time. I wont though for the simple fact that I still remember how bad it was 10 months ago compared to how easy it is now.

Moral I guess other than my own therapy of typing, all those in the early stages please keep going and soon you will "almost" be able to be separated from your family without the need to light up.

Kind Regards

Sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch! You are allowed to feel sorry for yourself for a while! Not to long mind you or you might go and buy that packet and undo all of the awesome hardwork you did. Good luck!

Wonderful stats Steve76. It is good when being SMOKEFREE feels normal eh?
Sorry you are going through a rough patch. I hope it gets sorted soon. Giving in and smoking again won't help you though. Stay strong. GOOD LUCK

Hi Steve, You dont need to harden up, but you do need to sort out the differences with your wife, it is not a case of whose fault or whose wrong, but more... can we make it right, where is the middle ground & can we meet there.
I have no idea how to help you but i sure know how you feel.
Sorry to say m8 but my heart goes out to your 6yr old more than you, 6yr old doesnt get a choice in this but you do.!
I'm just a snowtex when it comes to kids, (a real softie)
At least your business is kept in perspective, now you just gotta sort out your home life.
My thoughts: - Dont stay away from home for too long as this can lead to separation.
Stop wasting time & ripping your heart out, go & sort the issues out IF you can, you dont want to end up like me, read my last blog.!!
Best of luck Steve.
cheers
