9 DAYS SMOKE FREE AND I'M STILL MARRIED!!!

Hello to you all, I have been reading the posts most days...so very inspirational, so many people to admire here and draw strength and wisdom from.
My first couple of days were not to bad, I thought wow I think I can really do this, this time. Then day 3 hit me and up until yesterday I have been beside myself at times, my poor husband, he was glad to be out the door in the mornings, I really was a B**** to him. At work having a focus was easier, I found home harder. I came so close to having a ciggi, I opened the fire place where I had burned the remaining smokes I had left on the eve of my quit date. Thank goodness they had been reduced to ashes otherwise I think I may have had one. It is so sad how the Nicodemon has such a strong hold on our minds and we have to constantly fight it off. I know it does get easier. Creating new less distructive habbits!
Anyway here are some positives that I have noticed within my self in my 9 days smoke free days. Skin looks and feels healthier, eyes are looking brighter. Did my usual uphill walk and found my lung capacity is improving. Skin beneath fingernails is pinker. Clothes, hair, & breath so much sweeter. These are things I have to hold onto to keep me going.
I think of all the nasty poisionous chemicals that we have been inhaleing.....NO MORE, it's time for us all to blossom :)
Be strong, we all have it within us to succeed together.

Lol, I can so relate to the title of your blog there – that is something to celebrate! Congratulations to you (for your smokefree efforts) and hubby (for surviving).
And you got through a big challenge too! Remember to draw from that experience next time that nasty nicodemon bites!
All the best : )

Love your blog Anita_M! Poor hubby. I am sure he is on your side and hoping you'll soon be over the hardest part of the quit journey. You are doing so well and noticing some of the pluses from being SMOKEFREE surely does help. Stay strong. The easier times are just around the corner. ODAAT

Thanks to you both. Yes most people can relate to the mood swings. The people you love often wear the brunt of the withdrawral.

I used to get a cup of tea & toast in bed in the weekends. Now its a cup of tea and a PATCH.

All the best.

Well done on 9 days, thats the hardest week all done, I can imagine your hubby quietly slipping out the door as soon as you fire up, the mood swings don't help marriage's much.
you're doing well, noticing some benefits coming thru now, it's all good, keep going.
cheers
