It isn't hurting anybody?

Mā te aha au e kore ai e kai paipa?

What do you think? Do you agree with these statements?

Smoking:

  • Costs a lot of money.
  • Gives me wrinkles.
  • Stains my teeth and fingers.
  • Is addictive – both the nicotine and the habit.
  • Can make kids think it’s Ok to copy.
  • Gives me more coughs and colds.
  • Harms kids’ health – even before they’re born.
  • Is not allowed in many places.
  • Damages my health and fitness.
  • Keeps me dependent.
  • Makes me smell.

What does your smoking feel like for some of the people around you?

You might have even heard people say:

  • Makes me cough.
  • Stings my eyes.
  • Smells foul.
  • Takes days to get the smell out of the car/house.
  • I want to go and sit somewhere else.
  • It stinks.
  • Uncool.
  • I wouldn’t want to kiss a smoker.

Smoking controls me and my life.

If I could stop smoking, I could improve a lot of things. I would look and feel better.
